Why is Metro not Such a pain...

My house owner said "you are only blocking city roads". I wanted to reply but I was afraid she might complain about the beer bottles outside my room if I don’t respect her opinion.

Some other day a good friend of mine who was back at Hyderabad commented "it’s not going to solve any problems". The real pinch was from a "honourable" local govt. official who boasted "I wrote an article for a newspaper about this project saying its utter crap!" (He sighs at me which reminded a moms look when kid keeps chewing his thumb)

And there are other critics who think that The Hyderabad Metro Rail Project might damage City’s nativity. I understand when they say nativity; it means those old shops/stalls in congested areas which were asked to relocate and some sensitive Structures which might get disturbed.

But think of it,.. Don’t we need to align city to the requirements of growing population and business opportunities? Metro rail project doesn’t demand city’s virginity nativity. It’s only an endeavour to attain maturity that we see in the city’s shown in those Hollywood movies.

For a split second, imagine that horrible traffic jam you had gone through this morning while you were on the way to office. Frustrating! Isn’t it? City’s traffic had grown so much that you have enough time to see, choose, love, impress and propose for marriage with girl who just happened to stopped beside you.

Metro Rail is going to make it easy for you (I’m not talking about the girl’s part of it). Just hop into it and before you know, your air conditioned rail would have dropped you at your destination! No traffic, no driving stress, no pollution! Its runs for about 72 km across the city, with 65 stations and dedicated parking lots. That means you have a train to catch from anywhere to anywhere in the city at any point of time

If you are creative enough, may I ask you to imagine how it would be to have those beautifully architectured stations and stunning trains crisscrossing the city, well above the road level, passing beside monuments like charminar, jama masjid etc. and buildings like cyber towers! Isn’t that "wow!"

Additionally, this project created huge employment opportunities like no other project ever did in the city. Every Engineer takes it as a pride to work for the project (fresh graduate to a person with a couple of decade’s experience)

"Rome was not built in a day."

Temporarily, a small portion of roads are being occupied as a working zone. But things are being taken care of to make sure that the structure being built stands for ever to serve its purpose and in the process of crafting this masterpiece, your daily needs like power, water supply, sewerage lines etc. aren’t disturbed. Public safety & comfort was  never and will never be at stake!

Regards
An Engineer

LG stops making windows phones

"The total unit of Windows Phone sold in the global market is not a meaningful figure" LG explains.

The company has now stated that for the foreseeable future, they will solely focus on Android handsets and take an indefinite hiatus from WP. LG hasn't necessarily experienced smooth sailing on the smartphone seas, but committing to a single operating system should allow the company to get the most out of their mobile division.

Photo shoot : Charminar – Symbol of Islamic Architecture

Clicking on the Image will open a new window with full size Image.

Charminar has the signature style of Islamic architecture, which is known for its aesthetics looks sturdy and solid from a distance and, as one moves closer, it emerges as an elegant and romantic edifice proclaiming its architectural eminence in all its detail and dignity

If you doubt the above statement, I’m here to prove you its true

Here comes, a long shot of 421 years old Monument, The Charminar

built in 1591 by Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah,to commemorate the elimination of a plague epidemic from this city

Now lets take a closer look at this wonderful structure

Each of these Char – Minars ( Four Towers) are 151 feet high, and are built in 1591. There wasn’t any reconstruction done except one or two renovation measures. But the grooves and designs on this structure doesn’t make it feel like its 421 years old. you feel those designs are done on a fresh cake which is cut by an expert to form a romantic design.

Can you imagine this being done 400 + Years ago at 150 feet high and its still standing there… every groove of it. every curve that’s been designed to show how romantic a structure can be!
