You may be addicted...

Social Media is important part of the today’s internet environment. But it has dark side too. It’s very easy to spend too much time on twitter, write too many comments on Face book, or overuse social media in some other way.

Some call it a type of stalking. Curiosity about what someone’s doing may start innocently enough, but it can easily get out of hand. Users report that they often find themselves trying to follow their friends’ every move online. This can not only be time-consuming, it’s also unhealthy.

Here are 10 signs to tell if you are addicted to social media:
  1. You log in to Face book, Twitter, LinkedIn (or another form of social media) before you eat breakfast or get dressed each morning.
  2. No Internet connection is a serious problem for you.
  3. Whenever you finish watching a good movie or television show you feel updating your status
  4. Ignore work in favor of Facebook – Sneaking onto your Facebook home page while you’re supposed to be working
  5. When you have a problem, the first people you turn to for advice are the ones on Facebook or Twitter.
  6. You’re not getting enough sleep, but it’s not because you’re working too hard. It’s because you’re staying up late to keep your status up to date and to download pictures.
  7. You become anxious if someone you know refuses to friend you on Facebook or follow you on Twitter.
  8. You can’t remember the last time you spent an entire day without social media.
  9. You dream about social media comments and posts at night.
  10. The thought of getting off Face book leaves you in a cold sweat.

Social networking is a great concept and is fine in moderation. Just be sure to use your time productively, set limits, reconnect with family and friends in real-time, and be alert to signs that you’re stepping over the line from casual use to addiction.

Is it time to breakup with your GF/BF??

Do his/her habits are annoying you instead being cute?

His/her tone over phone sounds rude to you?

Do u feel she/he lack respect for your opinion?

Does your relationship have gone bad?

Does his/her loved seems to be controlling you?

Don’t feel the sense of belonging to each other?

Are you not happy about the relationship?

Do you have enough space to do your own thing?

Can you get over fights?

Do you communicate easily with her/her?

…………………………. ......................If you are feeling many more like this... then it’s time for yourself to question and to clarify your decision to be in the relationship or not??

Don’t be hasty in taking decisions, be wiser and stay Happy….because People only realize what they had after they lose it, so hold onto what you have and never let it go.

"True love does not come by finding the perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly"
- Jason Jordan

P.S: Break up is a difficult thing to do and to accept irrespective of the time period you are in the relationship. Because it is inflict pain and leaves you in grief. The one who initiates always feels guilty and the one who gets dumped feels the heartbreak and anguish of wondering what went wrong.

P.S.S: Break up is not the answer for all conflicts in relationship, so check where you went wrong rather than where the other person failed. Listen to each other. Communication strengthens the foundation of a relationship.

Trick yourself into not Smoking

Smoking is a great stress buster- it makes me calm!

I am not a baby- I will quit when I’m ready!

I smoke because I want to-I have a choice!

I smoke because my life is so complicated!

I am not strong enough- I don’t have the willpower to Quit !

Heard somewhere?? ya all these are the general excuses by smokers

Someone once famously said “If you can teach a person to quit smoking, you can teach him anything”.

If statistics is anything to go by- one human life is lost to tobacco use somewhere in the world every eight seconds. That translates to approximately 50 lac deaths annually. A research suggests that one in two lifetime smokers will die from their habit. Half of these deaths will occur in middle age i.e. between 40 and 50 years of age. Another research estimated that adult male smokers lost an average of 13.2 years of life and female smokers lost 14.5 years of life because of smoking.

With the average life expectancy of the average Indian male and female being 65 and 67 years respectively that leaves you gentlemen conveniently dead at 52 years of age and ladies at 53 years ,more so!!

With this amount of killer statistics available in the public domain smoking still seems to be the favorite pastime of the old and the young. What then is the culprit????

While browsing I found these trick to quit smoking, I thought it would be greate if I share this piece of information. So here it goes...

Trick 1: Don't Buy a Pack

If you buy a packet of chips, you'll want to eat most of it (if not all). While it's not chip-addiction we're cracking down on, the formula is the same. If you buy one cigarette , you'll channelize your laziness (into buying another one) to actually reduce your time between cigarettes.

Trick 2: Smoke only Half a Cigarette Each Time
I don't have to explain the 50% off on your health.

Trick 3: Remove the ashtrays

The tradition of easing into your comfy chair with a cigarette and a ashtray- nix it. Throw away your lighters too. Make smoking a chore, an annoying bodily necessity.

Trick 4: Enlist Fellow Quitters

Peer pressure got you into smoking, now use the same devilish social conditioning to have the pressure of your fellow man's expectations of you. You can pool in your anti-smoking resources and motivate each other.

Trick 5:Exercise

It's a simple chemical reaction. Smoking => Nicotine => Dopamine in your brain => Happiness. If you're already feeling good after enjoyable exercise (it can even be jumping with your kids, as long as you love it)

Trick 6: Change your Brand
You're overriding the love you have of a specific blend of tobacco with something your throat will chemically dislike.

Trick 7: Smoke Alone
If smoking was bonding time with fellow addicts, smoking alone will force you to have less of a reason. On a deeper level, it will show it's reality as an addiction.

Trick 8:Write down each Cigarette Smoked

"Pressure" motivates a lot of clicks of the lighter. Write down the things that made you want to light up in the first place. Start addressing those.

Trick 9: Smoke Free Zones
Libraries, cultural centers and cinema halls are all places where smoking is banned. Hang out at such smoke-free zones - the entertainment options will distract you from smoking.

All of us know, smoking habit just ruins one's health and life.A conscious and educated effort by the user will help him  to get out of this habit. Though this post may not be a life changing one, but definitely will caution/remind  the smokers..

Stay Healthy  Stay Happily!!!
